Organizations are complex organisms with interrelated functions, strategies and personalities. Being proactive in visioning how your organization will manifest can give you an incredible advantage when it comes to sales, recruiting and ultimately performing.

Using the analogy of animals, Katie & Josh will lead a discussion around organizational culture and the different levers and indicators you as a visionary can use to steer it.


The Speakers: Katie McLean and Josh Malate

Katie is a technology industry veteran, having held positions with Xerox, HP, Oracle and most recently Google. Her passion lies around building purpose and people first companies that attract the best customers, partners and employees with an inspiring corporate culture.

Currently, Katie is working with many companies through her company Envoke Communications and is driving the success of Paper Interactive as the Chief Growth Officer.

Katie holds a BA from Carleton University and is a member of the University of Alberta Advisory Board for Graduate Student Professional Development.

Josh is an engineer turned entrepreneur and a Founder of Fresh Angles Inc., a boutique business advisory based in Calgary.

As a self-professed idea junkie, Josh can be found working with local businesses, investing in start-ups or collaborating with thought leaders in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation. He serves in officer, director and advisor positions in a variety of companies/organizations throughout the city.

Josh holds an MBA (Finance) and BSc (Civil Engineering) from the University of Calgary and continues to be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
