Jason’s first entrepreneur experience was in the fifth grade. He and a friend would go out into the hills surrounding Peace River and collect tadpoles to sell at school. Then the principle found out and shut it down, which was his first experience with regulation.
Since that time he has been in love with entrepreneurship. He moved to Lethbridge and obtained a Bachelor of Management, with a major in finance, and then worked in the finance industry in a myriad of roles. From personal and business lending to risk management and strategic advising.
Jason formerly ran the Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge, a business plan training competition that saw more than 100 entrepreneurs trained in it’s last year. More recently he worked as the Sr. Manager of Entrepreneur Education for ATB Financial. He now runs his own business, Sunstone Strategic, that focuses on helping move business forward through business planning and strategic advising.
