The Anatomy of the Pitch

Thursday, October 5 | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

ATB Entrepreneur Centre, Calgary

A unique & bold idea is the seed that starts incredible organizations, but how do we describe this idea in a way that will generate the desired support? A pitch is the physical manifestation of your idea, provided to an audience in an easily understood form.

People commonly refer to pitches only in the context of start-ups looking to attract investment, but this definition limits their applicability. Pitches are used to generate strategic partnerships, progress ideas internally within large organizations and to sell a product to customers.

Josh, Founder of Fresh Angles Inc., will provide a curated approach to pitches drawing from a variety of sources and his diverse background and experience.

Speaker: Josh Malate

Josh is an engineer turned entrepreneur and a Founder of Fresh Angles Inc., a boutique business consultancy based in Calgary, Alberta.

Following a career in capital project management, Josh founded, grew and sold a real estate investment company that owned a portfolio of properties across Alberta, including a 32-room hotel in downtown Calgary.

As a self-professed idea junkie, Josh can be found working with local businesses, investing in start-ups or collaborating with thought leaders in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Josh holds an MBA (Finance) and BSc (Civil Engineering) from the University of Calgary, and continues to be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
