· Identity Fraud/Account take overs

The above topics were the most reported scams in Lethbridge in 2019. By providing local stats and case studies, Constable Yoan Bernatchez will show that they are happening in our community and not just in the larger centers.

About the Speaker: Cst. Yoan Bernatchez

I started my policing career in 2005 with the Military Police, where I was stationed in Edmonton. I was hired by the Lethbridge Police Service in January of 2009. I have worked with the Traffic Response Unit for 5 years, were I was a collision analyst and specialized in impaired investigations. I was also part of the Explosive Disposal Unit for 7 years, which primarily consisted of dealing with found explosives or suspicious packages. I am in my 3rd year, in my current role, within the Economic Crimes Unit, which investigates complex or serious financial crimes.
