This session will provide you the tools to:
– Acquire theoretical and practical understanding of unconscious/implicit bias around gender and other characteristics.
– Increase self-awareness of personal biases and understanding of factors that trigger or contribute to bias for individuals.
– Review areas and opportunities where unconscious bias can lead to gender inequity in the workplace and identify effective strategies and approaches to prevent, reduce, and eliminate bias in recruitment and hiring, team dynamics, career development, and other organizational processes.
This session is geared towards ALL levels of entrepreneurship.
The Speaker: Jake Stika
Jake Stika of Equity Leaders joins us to smash the glass ceiling from the top down with his challenge to embrace diversity, behave inclusively, and become equitable. A founder of gender-based nonprofit Next Gen Men, he is passionate about creating spaces to engage, educate, and empower others to be more gender intelligent. He has been recognized as one of Ashoka’s top-20 emerging innovators in Canada as well as a community contributor by the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion.
