Interactive Resume Writing -$20

Saturday, September 9 | 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

ATB Entrepreneur Centre, Calgary

Applying for jobs and just not getting the attention you deserve? Needing an update to your outdated resume but unsure where to start? Fallen out of love with your current resume and curious what the new normal is? Wondering how many potential employers are really reading your cover letter?

Hiring managers are literally receiving hundreds of applications per job posting. If your resume isn’t up to snuff, you’re at risk of being passed over—not because you’re not well qualified, but because you’re not presenting yourself in a way that stands out.

Sure, you could pay someone to create or update your resume, but the moment your information changes you’re stuck paying them again to keep it current. And removing yourself from the equation doesn’t teach you how to tailor your application for the specific career you’re applying for.

Join Matters of Grammar for an interactive resume writing workshop and learn current trends and best practices in the resume world. In this three-hour workshop, you will:

  • learn what makes a great resume stand out
  • evaluate the different types of resume presentations and when they may fit
  • talk about cover letters and what to do with them
  • formulate strong action statements that highlight your career achievements

Then take what you’ve learned and apply it, getting one-on-one feedback from the instructor right in the workshop! You will leave the session with a clear direction and a sound knowledge base to keep your resume current and effective. All for $20—less than a third of what paying someone to do it for you would cost.

Bring your current resume and cover letter, laptop, and a rough description of your most current employment. For questions regarding this event, email
