Even with just one employee, businesses will be faced with people challenges. Small organizations, and in particular entrepreneurs, need to focus on the core business and don’t always have the knowledge and expertise or take the time to deal with employee issues. This can result in lost productivity, morale issues, employee turnover and, in the worst case scenario, Human Rights and Employment Standards complaints and even legal action against the business. This workshop will highlight best practices in Human Resources, including trends in Recruitment and Retention, Employment and Human Rights Legislation, HR Policies (including Alcohol and Drugs in the Workplace), Performance Management and Termination of Employment.
