Panelists:

Marci Stickel – LA Chefs

Born in Lethbridge and raised on a farm near Picture Butte, Marci Stickel has built her professional life with strong ties to Lethbridge and the surrounding area.   After spending 20 plus years in banking and financial planning, Marci founded LA Chefs Catering & Events in 2006 along with a partner, who she bought out 3 years ago to become sole owner of this successful company.  Although being an entrepreneur had never been a professional goal of hers, it did not take long for Marci to realize that everything she had learned from her previous roles had laid the foundation for successful entrepreneurship.   In addition to running LA Chefs in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta, Marci has formed a management partnership with the Coast Kamloops Hotel to effectively oversee and manage the Food & Beverage services at that property, including the creation of a new catering company -UPTOWN CHEFS in Kamloops.  This business diversification and expansion has been very successful, and has been rewarded by numerous business awards in both Lethbridge and Kamloops. Giving back to the community is very important to Marci and the entire team of LA Chefs, and ranges from sponsorship of many local organizations, providing food to a local non-profit group for distribution, to providing free hot lunches to a local elementary school.

Through ownership of LA Chefs, Marci has built an incredible team of approximately 150 passionate employees in both Lethbridge and Kamloops.  Being a leader and mentor to these talented people is what fuels Marci’s passion for continued business success. Her mantra is simple: Employ and Empower Passionate People.

On a personal note, Marci has two grown sons, and loves to travel, read, ski, snorkel in Mexico, and spend quality time with great friends.

Dwayne Huber – AirTech

Dwayne is a married father of two daughters.  He attended the University of Alberta, where he received a BComm, majoring in Marketing and Finance.  He later returned to obtain an MBA in Accounting and led to a CMA designation.
He is one of the founding partners and President of Airtech, an HVAC company that has grown to over 50 employees.
Dwayne has a passion for using technology and information systems to enhance the customer experience, solve business problems and generate revenue opportunities.  By implementing smart devices in the field, staff capture their own transactions and have real-time access to the information that they need to perform their best.  This allowed Airtech to truly go paperless in 2019, reduced administration overhead by 50%, shortened cycle times, and improved customer responsiveness.
