Starting up a new venture usually requires some amount of capital and there are many resources related to raising this capital through sources such as investors and grants.
One commonly unexplored option is using pre-sales or customer investment. This session will discuss different options and strategies for funding your new or existing business using your customers.
Attendees will work through some exercises to engage their minds towards targeting new customers or mining existing customers to finance their business to the benefit of their customer.
This session is suitable for all levels of entrepreneurship.
The Speaker: Josh Malate
Josh is an engineer turned entrepreneur and a Founder of Fresh Angles Inc., a boutique business consultancy based in Calgary, Alberta.
Following a career in capital project management, Josh founded, grew and sold a real estate investment company that owned a portfolio of properties across Alberta, including a 32-room hotel in downtown Calgary.
As a self-professed idea junkie, Josh can be found working with local businesses, investing in start-ups or collaborating with thought leaders in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Josh holds an MBA (Finance) and BSc (Civil Engineering) from the University of Calgary, and continues to be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
