The recession ended almost two years ago. But for many Albertans, it doesn’t feel like the economy is back to “normal.” But what’s “normal” when it comes to our economy?
Economic indicators such as retail trade, employment and exports have surpassed their pre-recession levels. But there have also been large shifts in areas such as capital investment and the labour market that suggest our economy, while growing again, is different than the one that went into the recession.
