About the Panelists

Janine Aube, Red Fox Farms Fungi

Janine is  a single mother who moved to Alberta with her two boys looking for employment after graduating from Lakehead University. She was successful in her career as a Correctional Peace Officer with the Alberta Government for 7 years, but knew that she wanted more for herself and her career. She came from a background with a strong mother who herself is a successful entrepreneur and has been a leader in her community. She was fortunate enough to lean on that relationship and wealth of experience when she was wanting to move out onto her own venture. Her mother provided her the confidence to know that the timing was right and that she should take the risk. Having left law enforcement with a wealth of knowledge, some good, some bad, she moved into her business venture as a new chapter in her whole life, not just a paycheck. Quitting the stability of government employment to do what you love to do is an example of how she can speak to transitions. Janine’s story is one of challenges, resilience, determination, and success. She also enjoys reading, fostering dogs, and beer!

Niki Still, F45 Training

Niki Still is the owner of F45 Training Calgary Downtown.  She opened the first F45 Training franchised studio in Canada in Chestermere, Alberta in 2016 and opened her second studio in 2018. Additionally, she is the mother of Lyla (8), Collin (5), Rose (2) and is about to celebrate her ten year anniversary with her husband Tanner.

Prior to opening her first business, Niki worked as a Group Fitness Coordinator at Mount Royal University and then began working with clients in their homes, her own home and community delivering Holistic Nutrition, Personal Training, and Group Training services.

Niki began her pursuit as a business owner as she has always been passionate about the health and wellness industry and both she and her husband wanted to create a different atmosphere of life for their growing family. The true test came once embarking on these business aspirations as she learned the work level that was demanded, the changes of life that that were both good and bad, the realizations that she could not do it all and the growth that came from the shifting mindset that has taken form over the past four years.

Niki believes that without the struggles she was met with she would not be the business women she is now and she is excited for the continued learning and opportunity ahead.
