So you decided to become an entrepreneur and now you’re stuck at the beginning of not knowing where to start or even how to.
In this workshop we will guide you through the high level basics of business readiness, writing a business plan and tips for success.
Facilitator: Maria Gafiuk
Maria started with ATB and worked with us for more than seven years before forging out on her own.
Maria has a background in both science and finance, with a Bachelor of Science in computer science and mathematics, and an MBA. As an Entrepreneur Strategist, Maria is one of the primary contacts for our Alberta entrepreneurs at the Edmonton ATB Entrepreneur Centre.
An entrepreneur herself, Maria operated her own management consultant company, and aligned with a brokerage company – valuing and selling businesses. Through this, she was exposed to the details of many types of businesses, including: print shops, food manufacturing facilities, banks, bars, cleaning companies, an organic grocery and more. This level of practical experience provides great value in her role as Entrepreneur Strategist. “I am a personable and hardworking person and, most importantly I SHOW UP and give my all for my clients every day. With my background and experience, I can relate to what they are going through, and I know I can help motivate them to success.”
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Maria can also relate to the new to Canada experience. She also has a deep appreciation for various cultures and has been fortunate to live in three countries (Trinidad, Scotland and now Canada). She is very active, loves spending time with her husband and two boys, and then stepping out and Latin dancing—cha cha cha!
