Bookkeeping basics for new business owners
Wednesday, March 20 | 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
ATB Entrepreneur Centre, Edmonton
The bookkeeping processes you setup can make or break your new business. You start a business to make money, and you want to avoid paying too many taxes. Although starting our company can be very exciting, there is a set of rules set out by Canada Revenue Agency that we all have to abide by. Break the rules….and you pay more tax. You can avoid this by understanding the steps that you should take, and the steps that you MUST take.
This session will give you the top 5 steps to take right away, as well as some knowledge about starting and forming your company. You will be given some easy knowledge about write offs, and how to properly track your expenses, such as your vehicle and your home expenses, which receipts to keep, and the common pitfalls by new business owners. We also cover the way to sort your expenses in preparation for your tax preparer. This isn’t about bookkeeping as much as it is about making sure you are set up, and taking the necessary steps all year to be successful and keep more money in your pocket.
